Our two-story terrace house is over 100 years old in Glebe, an historic inner-city suburb of Sydney. Glebe's well preserved heritage housing and streetscape are part of its charm. Glebe is also well known for its main street with many cafes, restaurants and specialist shops, including one of the best bookshops in Sydney. It is a harbour waterfront suburb with a popular waterfront walk.
We are a retired couple who worked in education. The second bedroom has been converted to a sewing/ sitting room but with a sofa bed making it our (quite popular) guest room. The third bedroom has a single bed. So, the house would be most comfortable for a couple staying in the main bedroom, but could accommodate one other couple or up to two children/ young people.
The house has the features of a well-preserved 19th century terrace house - high ceilings, marble fireplaces, front rooms opening into each other with folding doors. At the front are the lounge and formal dining room, at the back a large, sunny, area of kitchen, family dining and sunroom, opening onto a courtyard garden. There are two bathrooms, one upstairs and one down.
Glebe is close to Sydney University and the University of Technology, Sydney. It is 15 minutes from the centre of Sydney by a frequent bus service.
The property has rear-lane access, and our car, a Toyota Yaris, is parked at the back of the garden.

Family of 2 Adults |
| We are a retired couple who worked in education. We have two adult children, neither living at home. Our son is studying at MIT, Cambridge (Boston) and we would like to exchange with someone living there so that we can have an extended holiday visiting him. Having both studied English Literature we are keen readers and have a well stocked home library. We enjoy the many advantages of living in Sydney - access to theatre and concerts, as well as opportunities to walk in national parks around Sydney and take short breaks out of town. |
